Lingzhou

Lingzhou is one of the five islands of Xuanwu Lake, with a total area of 10.42 hectares. Formerly known as Taipingzhou or Australia, it was renamed Lingzhou in July 1935. Lingzhou is an island formed relatively late in the lake. It is located in the southeast of Xuanwu Lake, and it is close to Zhongshan Mountain in the east. With the Zhongshan "Clouds All of Different Shapes", it is known for "Lingzhou Mountain Clouds" since long. It got the name because the island was used to be abound with water caltrop (Lingjiao), and it's shaped like a diamond (Lingxing). On the island, there are scenic spots such as Tailing Flower Stand, Tailing Bridge, Lingzhou Children's Paradise, etc.
